Inspired by Joe's character

Rod Shimabukuro

"But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.8 "So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt." (Genesis 45:7)
The inspiring, moving, provocative story of Joseph, his brothers, his journey and life. It's tough to imagine that with all that Joseph lived through, he would not want to hurt, kill, or at least make his brothers lives miserable. After all, he was beaten and sold into slavery by his own blood. Joseph's brothers were stinkin' liars, deceivers, jealous, angry, proud violators and jerks. The more I think about them, the more I can get furious. The more I think about Joseph's response in verses 7-8, the more I want to be like Jesus!
Today, I want to be like Joseph. His life's response in spite of all he had been through is the way I want to respond when I feel taken advantage of. To be honest, sometimes I feel like I work so hard, that my kids don't appreciate who I am, what I offer, the amount that I do to steward our home, cars, appliances - the cleaning, the driving, the maintenance, the ETC's of all the extra effort I give to serve my family.

Pity party ME! Woe is me!! Boo-hoo Rod... wah, wah, wah!!! This is NOTHING LIKE what Joseph went through - but yet I have a deep desire to respond in love, grace, forgiveness, mercy no matter how I feel or what my perceptions are of how unappreciated I am.

I want to live more humbly at home... and thank God - I can sense the transformation as I've been acknowledging God and trying not to carry out my agenda, especially when I'm a cranky father.

I want to bless my children with all my heart, all my efforts, all my service - at home... no matter what!

I want to thank You more God... for the blessing my children really are. Help me to see past their inabilities and see Your anointing on them!
God - you are sending me ahead, as a leader over my kids, to be a witness to them, through my life, actions, character... at home. Thanks for Your help - to live patiently, before my family. The victory is mine by Your grace!!
