Thank You Lord - Pinch Me

John Tilton

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." (Psalm 100:4-5)
Truly God's love is good and does endures forever and is eternal, especially as I ponder His word and how His word is a testament to his goodness, love, grace and hope. Prompted by this scripture and taking a moment to review what He's done throughout history, how He gave His son to die on the cross for my sins and what my life is now because of Him, I am reminded of how amazing His love is and how He deserves my thanksgiving and praise not only when I enter His sanctuary but as I go about my life.
If I was to be held accountable and pay the price for my sins and mistakes in the past, I really don't deserve the life in ministry that I am so passionate about today, nor the wonderful wife and family that I have. Yet, God chose to take a hold of my heart, my mind and my will and mold me into a person that daily remembers my sin and mistakes, and how God worked through my pastor to restore me and my wife and family to forgive me and grant me a second chance. Then, God saw the potential in me knowing what He was seeding into me in terms of gratitude and appreciation to call me and use me to join his team in being a full time minister to use all that I've learned and experienced for Him ... yes not only the talents, but the mistakes.
He continues to shape and mold me daily, showing me His ways and speaking to me in a silent voice that prompts my mind and heart.
Thus, my thanksgiving and praise is and should be a continuous pilot light flame that just gets bigger and brighter when I think of His goodness, love, mercy and hope. Not only can I enter His gates with thanksgiving, but I can make my thanksgiving and praise a part of my daily life and DNA, that people would see the joy in my eyes and smile on my face all prompted by His love in my heart.
Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so grateful that you did not let me remain in the muck and mire of my sin and mistakes. Yet, you chose to forgive me, restore me, change then call and use me for your Kingdom purposes. I am blessed with a wonderful wife and family, and a ministry that I am so passionate about ... Lord pinch me.
