Living Pass Anger and Distress

Rod Shimabukuro

"He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored." (Mark 3:5)
Sometimes it's hard to picture my forgiving, gracious, loving Jesus angry and distressed. I don't think it gives me reason or the right to put on those mean, angry looks when I'm ticked off or to have a stressed out countenance. I know He was perfect, but sometimes I expect Christians to always be smiling, loving and enjoying life because Jesus is LORD!

Like Jesus, I don't want to take my eyes off of the calling to meet people's needs - even while dealing with obstinate trouble-makers. There are distractions that can tick me off. But what will my response be, even when I'm angry and distressed?
Today, I feel affirmed through Jesus' life in this situation with the Pharisees. Not that I'm justified to live in anger or distress. He got ticked off, was distressed - troubled and I'm sure that it showed on His face and body language somehow. But Jesus is my example by the way He kept His focus on His mission - His calling.

So, what do I need to do today? Even when I get angry or feel distressed...

I need to control my reactions and responses with dissatisfying people and situations.
I need to keep my focus on my mission and calling.
I need to overlook and bypass the opinions and negativity of others.
Dear Awesome Daddie!
How wonderful You are to overlook my short comings and still use me to fulfill Your mission!!! I love You - but not just because You use me - but because You love me no matter what! Help me to live pass anger and stressful situations, focusing on Your calling, fulfilling Your mission!
