Be a Reconciler

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:18-19)
Observation
Living in perfect harmony and existence with the Lord is being reconciled to Him - my sins NOT being counted against me. There are No strikes against me. Shortcomings or failures are not an issue with God when it comes to the purity of my relationship with Him. My wholeness and acceptance in Christ is not based on my works, my holiness - but on Jesus reconciling me to Himself, through His forgiveness.

Of course being reconciled does not mean I go on failing intentionally, sinning against God or others. Quite the opposite. Being reconciled to Jesus, gives me motivation to draw near to God, love Him and serve Him with all my life!
Application
Today, I am affected by this passage by being reminded that as imperfect as I am, the Lord has made me one with Him through His love revealed and poured in my heart. His presence is so real in my life and I acknowledge God as my Everything!

SO I want to live differently by not counting others mistakes, failures and sins against them. Some Christians are so stupid - so foolish to not be growing forward. SO many seem so stuck in "their ways" and self centered lifestyle. But look at your own heart, your own secret sins Rod...says the Spirit!!!

I can live differently by:
  1. Thank God for reconciling me - NO strings attached. I am Wholly His!
  2. Not judging others so harshly within my heart.
  3. Reminding my self that God reconciled EVERYONE who believes to Himself. It's NOT about me only!
  4. Being a messenger of the message of reconciliation.
  5. Being a bridge builder for relationships I see that are strained. Don't let things slide around me.
Prayer
OK God - this is enough work for this week into the New Year! Thank You for helping me to be a minister of reconciliation. It's an honorable, but tough ministry. If You can do it and if You called me to live it, I believe Your power comes with Your promise! Empower me to fulfill Your promise - to be a reconciler!
