Becoming a Peace Bearing Prophet

Rod Shimabukuro

"The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace." (1 Corinthians 14:32-33)
You have to love Paul for addressing one of the most controversial topics among Evangelicals the use of tongues, prophecy, interpretation and revelation!

The body of Christ is filled with various interpretations of passages in 1 Corinthians 14. As we seek to be truth bearers, we must understand that there is only one interpretation of the Scriptures, but God allows various applications to individuals.

The crucial factor of someone who is endowed with spiritual gifts, is for that person to be under submission and accountable to God and spiritual leadership. This is part of the process for order and peace in the hearts of the body of Christ!
Having been exposed to various acts of miracles, forms of the prophetic, tongues and interpretations, prophecies, words of knowledge and wisdom, I know that people can be vulnerably led astray too easily.

It seems that many of us are sign seekers, miracle cravers, desiring the power of God to be manifest. Today I believe in the signs, wonders and miraculous acts of God. But I am also warned in my heart to be careful to examine the ministries and ministers according to the Word of God.

I want to be sure to be a man, leader, prophet, under authority, subject to spiritual leadership and accountable to be a minister, pastor, prophet who serves the body of Christ with God's peace!

Subject my heart, faith, words, actions of the prophetic to the Word of God and remain under spiritual leadership.

Though I may "have a strong sense of God's word or heart" on a matter for a situation or person, be sure that I don't cause disorder think through, pray through prophetic words in a way that will bring peace.
Dear Father of Life and Truth...lead me by Your Holy Spirit and I trust You to convict me towards being a servant of Your heart and word to my family and Your church. May Your Kingdom be blessed and Your heart made glad through me. Thanks for speaking with relevance through me.
