Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
As Christians we often find ourselves compelled to give in various forms such as tithes, offerings, and labor. However, (depending upon ones spiritual maturity) giving may root from a sense of religious duty instead of a product of spiritual development. We shouldn't give as an act of duty, but as a product of joy and love. All in all, giving should come from the righteous heart.
I'll continue to study the word of God and develope my prayer life. Furthermore, I'll ask Father God to give me wisdom, a giving heart, and the ability to love as he loves.
Father, thank you for this day and the opportunity to give from our heart. It is written, "ask, and it will be given to you". Father I ask you for wisdom, a righteous heart, and to love others as we love ourselves. May give from our heart. Your kingdom come. Let it be done according to your will and word. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
