A Heart In Tuned To God

July 8 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.
Paul is teaching the Hebrew church about having the right heart. Paul knew that a heart that is evil and unbelieving will only take the church further away from God. Since God is a God of love, having an evil heart will only separate us from God. Paul is teaching that if we want to get closer to God, our hearts has to be in tune with God's heart. When our heart is good and full of trust, our walk with God will be intimate. We have to always tune in our heart to God.
How is my heart daily? Is it full of love, joy, peace, and mercy? Is my heart in tune with God? I have to have my heart in tuned with God, because if I want to be close to God my heart has to beat with God. My heart has to be God's heart. My heart has to full of God's love, so that I can become more like Him. When my heart is full of anger, bitterness, and hatred; we do not reflect God. I have to choose to have my heart be in tuned with God.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your word. I ask you to help my heart be in tuned with yours. Help me to have my heart be full of love, joy, peace, and mercy. I want to be closer to you. In Jesus name. Amen.
