Out of love

October 4 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Luke 19:21 As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
The widow is giving out of her heart -- out of love. The two copper coins that mean everything to her is also an expression of her love for God, who means everything to her. Indeed, we give in proportion to our love for God. That kind of giving, God admires.
I desire that I would be so full of love and gratitude that I'd always give out of love as well. Out of love for God, in response to His love for those people He points out to me.
Father, fill my heart with love, that whatever I give, love goes with it as well. In Jesus' name, Amen.
