"Faith on Wheels"

May 20 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." Romans 1:16-17
How am I living my life? Is it full of faith or filled with watered down beliefs? I remember my wife asking me while in the bookstore at the Sand Island Lead Center if I wanted to get a New Hope license plate frame. Weíve been attending New Hope for about 11+ years and thought that we should make that final plunge into The New Hope family. My wife asked if we should get the black or the blue one. I hesitated because I really didnít want it on our car which would publicly announce to the rest of the world that we were serving eternity with Jesus Christ. I guess I never thought that I would be eloquent or convicted enough to defend my faith to other people. Especially in situations if they wronged me in someway and I would have to extend mercy and forgiveness. At that moment I felt the Lord speak to my heart saying, ďdonít worry about what people know of you, it maters more of what youíll tell them about me.Ē At that moment I realized that my faith wasnít something to defend but to share. That the Lord will put people in my path that would need him and my New Hope license plate frame may be the sign that they were looking for.
It's amazing how often we get "Oh Yeah" moments from the Lord. This is when the Lord speaks to us to remind us what he already thought us. I get these moments all the time. "Oh yeah, the Lord will never forsake us". "Oh yeah, the Lord knows all my pains and suffering". "Oh yea, my wife is a blessing and a gift from God". "Oh yeah, trust in the Lord with all my heart and I shouldn't lean onto my own understanding. Everything I do I need to always acknowledge him and he will make my path straight". This time he reminded me that everything come back to him. For Jesus is our center and our foundation. It is when we take our eyes off of him that we loss site of our purpose and goals. I will continue to return to cross and realign my heart to him.
Dear Lord, I thank you once again for your guidance and grace. Please continue to add strings to my heart that will tug me back to you. Help me to focus my eyes, heart, and efforts to glorify you Lord. Please place Godly people in my life to keep me accountable to my faith in you Lord. Let my thoughts and desire please you. Please forgive me of my sins and cleanse me so that I may be a cleansed servant always ready to serve you Lord. I thank you for abundantly blessing me with a Godly wife who desires to praise you with her life. I thank you for our marriage small group that has challenged me not only to be a better husband but a better servant of all. I also thank you for my menís small group who has the heart for capturing your love and compassion thru video. And lastly for my two beautiful girls who will continue to see you thru me more each day. My desire is that they fall in love with you Lord thru me. They will know you and find you in a man that will love and cherish them in a Christ centered marriage. Thank you for loving me even when I was less than lovable. Thank you for your grace and mercy. I love you Lord. Amen.
