"Then the crowds spread out their coats on the road ahead of Jesus. 37) As they reached the place where the read started down from the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen".
Imagine this setting. Jesus on a Colt riding along a rocky, dirt road. All the way to Jerusalem his followers were spreading the coats ahead of Jesus. They must have been picking the coats up behind him, and then continuously laying them down in front of Jesus. All the while they were shouting and sining, praising God for all he does. Nowhere in the passage, and I bet there were no followers moaning, and grumbling about how tedious the work was. Because they knew who they were doing work for. Jesus!
Sometimes I forget who I am REALLY working for, and what a blessing it is to serve GOD. All that I have comes from God; family, health, peace, joy,and hopefully a job. Even work comes from God, not a Job, but work. I need to remember to "shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the miracles they had seen".
"Dear Lord: Thank you for all your blessings you give us everyday. Thank you for the ability to do your work, the ability to let your light shine through our individual gifts. Father, continue to strengthen us to "do work" for you today. In your Sons name Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior. AMEN"
