Keeping God at the core of my being

September 8 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

God is in her citadels; He has shown Himself to be her fortress Psalm 48:3 NIV

God is in her palaces. He is known as her refuge.
Psalm 48:3 NKJV
In you word today I see your people seeking to hear your direction for their lives (as I am) and speaking their promises to obey, but then not liking the direction that You would have them take, which was staying put. They disobeyed and went back to Egypt and worshiped the queen of heaven according to their own understanding. Because of their disobedience they suffered deadly consequences. God is asking us to walk in obedience and not to lean on our own understanding of what seems right. He wants us to humble ourselves and show reverence to Him and follow His laws and decrees.
When God is in our citadel He is our refuge. He will keep us secure forever. He is our God forever and ever and he will be our guide to the end. We need to patiently endure life's trials and be faithful to Him.

Jer. 42:3, 42:6,43, 44:19, 44:10, Psalm 48:3 and Rev.13:10
God, I want to know your will for my life and I want to be obedient and follow through on what You are calling me to do. I want you at the core of my being. I want to walk in Your ways and not in my own understanding. I don't want to disobey based on my feelings about situations in my life or my own rationale. I want to trust You and Your word and not stumble in trusting in mankind. I want to love. I want to be filled with agape love. I want to endure the troubled times faithfully, obediently and with love knowing that You will work all things together for the good because I am trusting in You and walking according to Your purpose in my life.
Dear God, thank You for your word to us. Thank You for loving us and being our fortress and place for peace and security. God please help us not to lean on our own understanding or turn away from you in disobedience. God I want to surrender to your blessings for me. I want you to plant me and build me up. Thank you Lord for your love. Thank you for 13 years of New Hope..and the unity we find in sharing your word together each day. Thank you that we are on the same page.. Thank you for getting my husband and I through 10 years as of today. May you continue to bless our marriage and the ministry of New Hope. May God always be in our Citadel and show Himself to be our fortress.. May He always be at the core of us and all that we do!! Love Shell
