Take Courage!

February 18 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Acts 24:9

“The Jews joined in the accusation, asserting that these things were true.”

Here we find Paul doing what he does best, witnessing for Christ. Standing before the leaders of Israel and Rome would seem like a road block to where Paul was going, but was it? In the chapter before we read in verse 11b, “Take courage, for as you have solemnly witnessed to My cause at Jerusalem, so you must witness at Rome also.” The Lord was encouraging Paul that what he faced before him was indeed from God.

What do you do when people misinterpret your every action, defend yourself? Its tempting... For myself, having to defend my every move makes me weary, laden down and grieved. What is it that makes people assume the worst? Is it because they don’t bother to ask? Maybe, or are they so use to people undermining them, that they suspect all. It doesn’t make for a happy ending does it.
Going back to verse 11b, “Take courage...” When all else fails and your standing before the leaders remember, God is on your side. Just maybe, its the leaders God wants to witness too!

Thank you for your loving encouragement! I feel so alone at times when I see what’s before me. Even still, I am persuaded that you are able to keep that which I have committed into your hands. I will press on knowing that you are my front and rear guard. In you I find the courage I need.
With all my love,
