"Archaia has been prepared . . . each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart . . . for God loves a cheerful giver" (2Cor 9:2,7)
Paul compltes his encouragement to the Corinthian believers in their giving by highlighting some important principles:
* giving is to be prepared for;
* giving is to come from the hear;
*giving is to be done 'hilariously' (greek);
* remember God will take care of us as we give.
When I give to others, especially to other believers, it is a privilige! I am challenged not to give 'grudgingly', but with a heart full of thankfulness, praise and willingness to a God who has given to me His "indescribable gift"!
When I give wholeheartidly to others, I reap from God "all grace . . . and an "abundance for every good deed" (v8) Hilarious giving is another branch on this plant that needs alot of work. The more I grow, the more my giving to others becomes simply . . . hilarious!
Father, I know there are far too many times Igive grudgingly and not hilariously! Too often I count the pennies going out, and not the blessings flowing through to others. Please continue to grow this heart of mine so that your will can be established according to your plans and purposes!
