God Will Bring Light Into The Darkness

March 20 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. I Corinthians 4:5
Paul is teaching the church of Corinth not to judge others, and that it is God's job to judge. Paul knew that to judge others put themselves higher than the other person and may make the person think that he/she is better than the other person. This is pride and arrogance. Paul also knew that God will bring light to where there is darkness, God will always bring the truth into the light to expose the heart of man. God is going to allow His light to shine on those who have hidden secrets, because God is perfect He is the only one can do this. Paul is also saying unless they have a clean slate, nobody can judge. They have to allow God to expose darkness, so He can be honored. Paul knows that God wants to clean His people so that we can shine for His kingdom.
Do I judge people? Do I have a clean slate? I need to realize that I cannot judge people, but I have to allow God to shine His light where there is sin and expose other people's heart. I also must allow God to shine His light in my heart, so that I can have a clean slate. I must allow God to clean my heart, so that I can be more like Him. I have to choose to love those around me, have lots of grace and mercy for those who have fallen. I must help restore those who have sinned, and bring them to God, so He can deal with them. I must lead people to God and let Him to what He needs to do in us.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your word. I ask you to help me not to judge other people. Help me to have love, grace and mercy for others; so I can help them come closer to you. Help me clean my heart, so that I can be more like you. In Jesus name. Amen
