Make Marriage Important

July 20 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery. Hebrews 13:4
Paul is teaching the Hebrew church to make marriage important and to honor a covenant that spouses make to each other, and to God. Paul knew that marriage was created by God and He wanted His people to place it a top priority in their lives. Paul did not want the Hebrew church to take marriage for granted, but to keep it sacred. God promises to judge those who commit adultery and immorality, God hates sin. And it is this kind of sin that destroys marriages. God hates divorce and we need to protect our marriages.
Do I place marriage a top priority in my life? As I am soon going to enter marriage with Allena, I will choose to put her and my marriage a top priority in my marriage. Even more important than my ministry, I will make my marriage to Allena my ministry. I have to realize that God places marriage and family very important to a point that a nation cannot survive without strong marriages and family. I have to love Allena the way God wants me to, and to stay committed to her till the very end. I will make my marriage a top priority.
Heavenly Father thank you for your word. I ask you help me make my marriage to Allena a top priority. Help me to love Allena the way you want me to. Help me to be committed to my marriage till the very end. In Jesus name. Amen.
