Obedient Servant

September 22 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Luke 4: 5-8 5 "The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7So if you worship me, it will all be yours."
8Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'[b]"
Satan had tempted Jesus, appealing to his Flesh. He thought Jesus's desires as a man would lead him away from his Father, God. He wanted to steal, kill and destroy Jesus's holy relationship with God. Jesus's training during this time was to disicpline the flesh, and strengthen his spirit and soul. Jesus proclaimed He knew to love and serve the Highest Authority of all heaven, and that was his Father, the Almighty God in heaven and on earth.
Sometimes I think I have been given authority at work, expecting others to serve me or obey what I say. I remember I serve only for Him, I work for God and in doing so I want to give my best, have compassion and love for others, even the unlovables in my life.
Dear Father, Thank you for choosing me to be your child, eternally loved by you. Refresh my spirit today, to serve you. I invite you into my day, giving You the authority over my life. I ask for your patience as I learn to be humble in all my relationships, to be an obedient servant of yours.
