Noone But Jesus

January 9 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

"As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters - one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.) While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him." (Luke 9:33-35)
Noone but Jesus. There is only one whom we should praise, worship, and follow - Jesus. He is our Advocate, the Author of Life, Blessed Ruler, Chief Cornerstone, Faithful and True Witness, Great Shepherd, High Priest, Hope of Glory, Image of God, Judge of the Living and the Dead, King Eternal, Lord of Lords, Mediator of the New Convenant, Prophet, Righteous One, Savior, the Truth, the Way, and the Word. There will never be anyone like Jesus. No other is needed but Him.
There have been, are, and will be great authors, speakers, and godly influences that deposit wisdom in my life. But noone compared to Jesus. For today and the rest of my days, I will follow the one whom God has chosen for me to follow - sweet Jesus!
"Heavenly Father, you are the giver of every good gift from above. Thank you for your great gift - your precious son Jesus. Abba Father, I confess all my sins especially the times I seeked, followed, and praised others rather than Jesus. May I always be mindful that Jesus is all I need and that he is the only one that can be fully trusted and relied upon. May my thoughts always be on Jesus. May I be more like him and less like me. For your greater glory, I pray these things in the name above all names - Jesus. Amen!"
