The Name by which We are Saved

April 24 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Luke 18:35-42 "As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard the crowd going by he asked what was happening. They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by." He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" "Lord I want to see," he replied. Jesus said to him, "Recieve your sight;your faith has healed you." Immediately he recieved his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
Who knows how long this man was begging on the side of the road. Those that were following Jesus did nothing for this man who was begging. But the man noticed something in the air, something was different about that day and asked a question. He then began calling out to God, it no longer was begging out to the unknown for help, he had a specific name, the Name above ALL Names, and that name is Jesus. Yes, this blind man yelled out to the one and only Savior. No more begging, his begging became specific and with faith. "Jesus, Son of David have mercy on me!"
Sometimes we are blind to our own wants and desires and often seek advice from others, but Jesus hears us, in a World full of Chaos he can hear you call him amongst the crowd. Many times we may go to church members and whine and complain (begging) for someone to hear us, when really it isn't them we should be calling out to, the body Of Christ is meant for us to find fellowship, but ultimately it is Jesus by whom we are healed. Transform your life today, by prayer and faith to the one whose Name Is Jesus.
Lord God,
You are such an awesome and powerful God. You sent your Son Jesus, so that we may have Salvation, and I want to Thank you today. Lord, help me regain sight, sight to see your beauty. Sight to see your ways, Sight not to depend so much on begging others for the things I should be coming to you for. Have mercy on me Lord, and may I be healed inside and out, In Jesus Name.
