Treasures from tears!

September 28 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

" In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel" (Is 4:2)
As the Lord's indicment and punishment continues over His rebellious people, we again get a glimpse of His mercy and grace which is poured out on the remnant.
Look at the contrast: 'removal - oppression - protestings - evil - terrible consequences - physical deteriation - poverty - mourning - loss - loneliness'; and to the remnant: ' beauty - glory - fruitfulness - newness of life - protection - provision - abundance!'
God is holy in His discipline towards ME. When I am left in what seemingly feels like a heap of ruins because I have walked away from following Him, it is God's hand on my life, and it is right. But He is holy also in His mercy and grace toward ME. The floodgates of His goodness toward ME cannot be contained, He really delights in blessing His people.
When I look at the state of God's people who have rebelled, I feel the stench and force of it in my own heart when rebellig against His will.
But as I walk with Him daily, I als feel the refreshing streams of His blessings pour into my experiences.
God'shand of judgement, no matter how svere, wil always lead us to His hand of grace and mercy and blessing - if we are willing to go that far!
Father, your discipline hurts, but thankyou for it, because you always lead ME in the paths of your mercy and grace - thankyou!
Help ME , by your Spirit, to remember how deep the heart can go backwards, and yet how much the fruit can blossom when walking in step with You.
