November 11 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

1 Corinthians 9:19 19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
This is such an incredible statement, no a declaration that Paul is making! I wonder how it differs from us in the church today. We live in a culture in the US where we have become slaves to so many things, (careers, cars, homes, life-styles), and wonder why we don't see as many people won as we should!
When I reflect on this statement, I am preaching to me first and foremost! I have to acknowledge that if I want to see the ROI, (return on investment), that Paul saw in his life then I must commit to those same things he was committed to in my life. I am afraid that at times we have to take a hard look at ourselves ans ask some tough questions if we want to get to the brass tacks of things. I must have priority shifts in my life to see those things that He wants to see done in my life happen!
Lord as I reflect back today on my 46th birthday, I have to ask you again to help me to be free. Help me to make myself a slave to those around me for the cause of the Kingdom. Help me to win as many as possible by my demonstration of Jesus in me! AMEN.
