"And God created us all; he has no favorites" (Job 34:19)
How many times do you wake up and find yourself wondering...should I wear my favorite shirt today? Should I wear my favorite shoes today? Or my favorite piece of jewelry? In Job 34:19 it says that "God has no favorites". So this scripture clearly reminds us that no matter how many favorite things we have (friends, shoes, clothes, jewelry, cars, money) we are his children, not his FAVORITES.
I need to meditate on a NO FAVORITE theory. You see, the more we make ourselves think that God has favorites over our lives, we allow the flesh and the desires of the world to conquer our true identity with Christ. I need to remind myself that God loves me more than I love my hawaiian braclet. God loves me more then the pair of clothes that I just purchased. I need to set an example for my family that no matter what they have or what is currently going on around them, I too must have NO FAVORITES and humbly love them as God loves me.
Lord, thank you for your word of favoritism. Thank you for loving me and reminding me that you love me inspite of all the favorite things I put on to look good and feel good. Thank you for a family that I get to wake up to, love on and continue to keep them covered under your umbrella of comfort, love, and sincere protection. I pray that you will remind me though of the things that I call favorite, redeem them, and help me to have no favorites. Help me to be the living vessel you use to remind those I love and interact with on a daily basis about favoritism. Enable me to be the Jesus they see and use me to get them to know the Alpha and the Omega. I pray that you will restore my finanaces and protect my family. I lift up my wedding to you Lord and humbly ask that you will be the provider for all that we may need. I love you and I thank you in Jesus name I pray....AMEN!
