Comfort in trying times!

September 12 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

" Blessed be the . . . God of all comfort" (2Cor 1:3)
Paul begins his 2nd letter to the chhurch at Corinth in response to the news that most of the believers had received his 'stern' 1st letter in humility and repentance. He knew like himself, they were experiencing tough times, and so he launches out with a word of grace and encouragement - 'We suffer, as do you; we are comforted, as you will be!'
Our difficult circumstances and experiences have anamazing purpose: When God comforts us in it all and brings us through; we in turn are able to comfort others and see them throughas well.
Even when we are burdened alot "beyond our strength, so that we despair even of life", God'spurpose is to bring us once again to Himself.
In spite of various difficulties; in spite of numerous setbacks; in spite of crushing dissapointments - He is and will always be the God of all comfort!
Father life is hard sometimes and what I experience sometimes bring discouragement and negative attitudes. Help me to see beyond these things to a God who brings comfort and strength, hope and courage, purpose and direction.
