Jesus' body and the Spirit of Christ

July 30 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

“The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not. He came to his own, and his own people received him not. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
When God created this world, he gave man dominion over the earth. There seems to be properties and principles of this earth which the Lord purposefully made, not just for us but for Himself. The Lord enters into this world through a host, or so it seems. Every time the Lord comes down He comes through someone or something of this world. I believe he sent Christ into a body named Jesus, and the Lord’s spirit is what moved through the body of Jesus. He came to His own, His own world He created, but also fully Divine. The Lord needed the body of Jesus to enter this world as Himself. It is God’s spirit which enlightens every man, His spirit that flows through our bodies and performs miracles. Although He created everything everywhere, the Lord needed some property of this world to come into. I think because the Lord used man as His host, that gave authorization for the Holy Spirit to enter man. Once we receive our Lord then the Holy Spirit resides in us forever.
I heard this sermon from a pastor named Dr. Miles Munroe. He talked, in much greater detail, about the Lord needed our bodies to enter into this world. That when a child is in the womb, both parent and child’s blood do not mix, as God made it that way. So that Jesus’ blood was really Christ blood, completely Holy and only from His blood are our sins repaid. I think this verse in John is a reminder that we are children of God, and that our purpose is to not only remember that, but to spread it world wide. People need to know this. Jesus Christ is not a religion, not a daily routine, not condescending attitude or a right to judge, but He is the truth, the only salvation and we cannot stop or waste our breaths until the world knows.
Lord I pray that you continue to help me understand our mystery and beauty. I may never know everything about you, but that doesn’t mean I will stop loving you. You are my life and everything I live for, thank you so much for your grace and mercy.
