It's Taken Care Of

May 27 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Matthew 6: 25-34;
1 Peter 5:7
There are numerous medications for anxiety. It is probably a multi-million dollar industry. We humans have all sorts of conditions. But if we read these verses with a clear mind, it says, "do not worry about your life." So much easier said than done. But nothing the Lord asks us to do is without application. If we have situations where we have to trust Him, then our faith is strengthened.
It is so easy to get caught up in worrying about how to pay for this or that; a needed new vehicle; or how to pay off debt; or how will I be able to have my baby and still live with all the necessities of life without my income. And so the list can grow. We have to trust our Lord. He created birds and flowers and many other animals and they all have food to grow. Verse 26 of Matthew 6 reminds us that we are more valuable than birds. So, of course he is going to take care of us. Not only that, worrying does nothing! It causes anxiety and stress and other problems! 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast ALL of our anxiety on God, because he cares for us! That is incredible. With that, I never need to worry again! Back to Matthew, in verse 33, he says, that first of all, not second, not third-first, we should seek God's kingdom and His righteousness. If we are doing this, then we won't have time to worry about money or food or anything else.
Dear Heavenly Father, We sometimes cannot wrap our heads around Your infinite care for us. We get so caught up in the needs and wants of this world and all we need to do is seek your kingdom and righteousness. Help us to remain in You, reading Your Holy Word and harkening our ear to Your promises that never fade. Lord, be with us as we go through our day and take our anxieties of whatever we are worried about. We commit them to Your capable hands right now. I give you (list 3 things you are worried about) and trust that you are going to take care of them. I am not going to worry or be anxious. You are our Holy Abba and only want what's best for us. I trust you. Amen.
