Dirty made clean

May 6 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit in me. Psalm 51:10
After David had committed adultry with Bathsheba and Nathan the prophet came to him and rebuked him. David realizes he has sinned against the Lord. The Lord disciplines David. So that David may repent. Though he has to suffer, God is not finished with him and blesses him with yet another son, Solomon. God's grace and forgiveness allows David to get on with his life. And ultimately give God the glory.
Sometimes I do really stupid things that hurt other people. But God Almighty has a way of disciplining me. I repent, trust in Him and get on with my life. When I humble my self, set aside my pride, ask for forgiveness and let God work things out He is glorified. By myself I cannot "fix" things. God can.
It is his grace alone that allows me to discover the life he wants me to lead. I am so grateful for that.
Dear Heavely Father, Thank you that I do not have to go it alone. With you all things are possible. Even the worst of situations can become new and whole again. You have taught me to forgive those who tresspass against me. And I have learned that I am forgiven by you and therefore can fill my life with actions and words that glorify you. What a difference you made in me. Never will you leave or forsake me. I still have so much to learn. Thank you Teacher for the many stories of David and others in the bible. You can use anyone of us - we don't have to stay the same. You have changed my heart. Amen.
