Is 40,41,42 1 Pet 3
One of the overarching themes that I see in these chapters is God's great strength, and our inability to do anything on our own. It seems to me that apart from God's grace, we would perish very quickly.
Another observation that I made was that men seem to lean toward creating a god of their own liking. One that cannot speak or have control. Long ago they were made of wood and metals shaped into images to be worshiped. Today they are made out of plastic metal and glass and we devote all of our time looking at them. We call them televisions.
The other thing I noticed was God's willingness to help those He loves. But God has an anger toward those who practice evil.
"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
I need to remember my smallness more. Sometimes I act as if there is no one on the planet but me.
God, please help me to remember my utter dependence on You. Help me to see when I am turning toward other things. Help me to be vigilant about prayer.
