No More Bad Memories

April 15 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Scripture
Brethern, I do not regard as of having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do; forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. I press toward the goalfor the prize of the upward call of God. Philippians 3:13-14
Observation
Paul had a great reason why he wanted to forget his past, he persecuted and killed many chirstians. But when Paul met God on the road to Dasmacus, and God changed him, he became a new person. But his past may have still haunt him. Paul is encouraging the church at Philipi to forget what is the past for they could not change it, and to move forward in life. And this is a difficult thing to do, because bad memoeries still lie inside the chirstian's minds. And it was preventing them to move on in God. Paul wanted the church to be healed of thier bad memories and to encourage others to do the same. The church was being held back by thier past, and it was time for them to move forward and allowing God to heal them of thier bad memories.
Application
There are many things I have done I am not proud of. Bad decsions, bad experiences, and bad relationshipss. And all of them has haunt me and me and held me back for years. I have put these bad memories in my sub-consciences and they were stored there until something happened or someone said something that caused the bad memory to come out and bring anger and bitterness in my life. This is a sign from God that I need to be healed from my past and use it to help others. I need to forgive those who hurt me, give my pains and issues to God, and give God permission to heal me through His love and power. So I can move forward in life and my relationship with Him. I cannot allow my bad memories to block my relationship with God and with others. I must use my past to build people who need God to heal them of thier past. I will use my testimony to help others move forward in thier lives.
Prayer
Heavenly Father tahnk you for your word. I ask you to help me forget my past and move forward in my life. I give you my pains and issues and give you permission to heal me. Use me to bring healing to others. In Jesus name. Amen.
