My Song of Praise

September 26 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the Lord be praised. He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth. (Psa. 113:3, 6 )
Each morning is a new song worthy to be composed. Why? Well, itís a reflection of our gratitude for all God has graced us with. His love, for example, radiates world wide, from the Alps to the beautiful Turtle Bay beach. This beauty is in our eyeís reach. Itís simple, take time to look around and see the excellence of His creation even evident in the air we breathe. So, isnít God deserving of worship from His masterpieces; the four-legged animals to the two-legged humans. We should live our lives with songs on our lips, with a message of praise to the One who deserves it.
This morning, I didnít turn on the CD player to hear music for outside my bedroom window came a wonderful melody. It was Godís ensemble of birds singing songs directly from the Song-Writer. It was their songs of praise, their opportune moment to express the joy for life.

You see, God saw the void in my life and dried my tear-stained pillow. He answered even the desires of my heart. As Psalms 113:9 says, ďHe gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother.Ē God did the same for me. I am no longer alone in doing life. God lavished me with a wonderful husband. He is Godís gracious answer to 12 long years of prayer. Our marriage is a mirror of His grace of over 26 years. I couldnít be more blessed or a happier wife. And together we are parents three times over, with children who love their maker with their life. What a joy to have a quiver full in a household that reflects the power of His love. This is only one page out of the bountiful chapters of His-story already written and yet to be written.

And itís clear; I didnít have to go looking far for love for God came and sought me out first. I realize how my God is a Father of fathers. His love for His children is endearing and strong. His care goes beyond my human comprehension. I am proof of it.

I know I am indeed only one of many lives indebted to the greatness of Your love. I have seen it firsthand. The whole world and generations passed, generations now and forever will also see and definitely feel it. There are not enough words in the human vocabulary to express the gratitude of my heart for such awesomeness. I want my life to reflect the gratitude You deserve. I give back a symphony of praise composed of sweet melodies, even more than the choir of birds you sent me today; this is my song of praise to You.
Abba Father, You are my Song-Writer. From the rising of the sun to the setting of it, help me to always remember what Youíve shown to me. Youíve pulled back the curtains in your treasure box of wisdomÖand I get to give you my song of praise.
