Do Not Worry

April 19 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Do Not Worry
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
We all worry and its part of being human. We worry about things that we have no control over, we worry about what others think, we put unnecessary burdens on ourselves, we have too many expectations. But what we have to learn is that we must let it go to God and let him work for us. But of course we still have to do our part in being obedient to him. Remember its not all about us, its all about Him. When we understand that, things ALWAYS falls into place.
I will pray about things that worry me, and always to keep in my heart that God will take care of me, when times get hard. I give my worries to Him and trust Him, because he has never done me harm. He does put me out of my comfort zone, but its for our growth and now I understand it.
Heavenly Father, I pray that you always press on my heart the things that you need me to do. I pray that I always am mindful of you and your children, and to remember that I am your servant as well as the servant of your children. I pray that I will have patience and not be afraid to share my truest love for others no matter what the reaction may be. I will always come to you in humble prayer when things are heavy on my heart and on my mind. I trust you, because you loved me no matter what. Give the world a hug and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ AMEN.
