truly free

November 4 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Job 24:12 But God charges no one with wrong doing.
Even in the old testament it is clear from this verse that God's salvation plan involves him paying the debt for our sin, our wrong doing, our guilt. Yes, we are to be called to account but those who confess with their lips and believe with their heart are truly free... If Job can know this then all the Jewish leaders who questioned and rejected Jesus during his earthly life and ministry could know this and not feel threatened to do likewise - they could have analysed Jesus claims against the torah and found his claims to be true and thus been truly free...
* keep a short account with God
* trust him for my daily bread
* be mindful of his presence with me - be more prayerful
*delight in the freedom I have in Jesus, be more joyous
Lord God,
help me tomorrow to be joyous, delighting in the freedom I have in Jesus. Help me to have an infectiousness that people see and want to have - help me to keep a short account and to keep you close at hand in heart and mind.
