Jn. 15: 15
“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
The crowds of people listening to Jesus understood what it meant to be slaves, being themselves under the oppression of Rome. Rome did not announce to its “people” what they were doing or planning they just did it. The people of Jesus day were looking to be free.
Jesus tells them, as well as us today, that even though you may be under some type of oppression you are no longer slaves in the dark, but friends of the King. As friends of God we need to cast off all fear; for fear blinds us to the future God has for us.
No longer slaves in the dark wondering what’s going on around us. We are free to know what our King is doing in our lives. Jesus is saying to us because you are my friends you no longer have to wonder about what I’m doing, just ask!
God is calling us to rise up and listen to His voice. We must refuse to be tossed to and fro and unstable, but instead knowing what the will of God is and walking in it!
To My King I pray:
Thank You for giving me freedom from the world’s oppression. I now have the great privilege to know you and walk in your ways. Your love for me has opened doors I could never have opened. Your joy over me has brought a favor where ever I go. The treasures of salvation are endless. Your name be praised!
