September 13 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Joshua 6:2-5
I could not help but be amazed at God when I read the account of the fall of Jericho. When God gave the instructions to take the city He told Joshua that the battle has already been WON even before a single finger has been lifted (verse 2).
He also told them, in order to take the city, that they had to march around Jericho a total of 13 times (verses 3-4). This reminds me that Godís WAYS are so different from manís ways. His is always higher, better and right.
Joshua and his men were to keep silent while they march and on the last round, on signal, they shouted and the walls of Jericho collapsed as God told them (verse 5). After that, taking the city was a breeze. Sometimes, the real problems are easy to deal with Ė itís the WALLS that keep us from achieving success. However, once you break down the wall, youíll find that the next steps are easy.
I can rest assured in the fact that not only does God fight battles for me, He also gives me the victory.
I once had pain on my right shoulder which the orthopedic surgeon said could only be remedied by pain relievers for life. I decided to pray and fast for a week - God healed me on the third day of my fast and the pain has not returned since. Truly, God's ways are awesome.
Lastly, when I'm facing problems, I check if there are walls that hinder me. If there is a rift between me and my wife, I have to break down the wall called 'pride' - when I do that, reconciliation is immediate.
I praise You for being are a wonderful God. Thank You for the victory you give through your marvelous ways. Give us the strength to break down the walls in our lives so that we can be of more use for Your glory. Amen!
