" No Degree Required"

October 15 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Acts 4:13
" The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John for they could see that they were ordinary men who had had no special training. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus."
Here in Acts 4:13 we see how God uses ordinary people to do his extraordinary work. Peter and John had no formal training; they did not have a Biblical College Degree from a Bible College. I don’t think that they even had a Bachelors or Associates Degree.

What they did have, and the only degree required for their job, was a “Degree of TRUTH”. Peter and John had spent time with Jesus, walking with Jesus, talking with Jesus, learning his ways, and just learning from him. So when they spoke they spoke with confidence, a confidence that they knew what they were speaking was the TRUTH, Nothing or no one would shake their confidence in speaking the TRUTH. All who heard and saw them speak, even the “Religious” Priests, could see this Confidence and boldness.

I remember the first time I had to teach a flight ground school for the Private Pilot level. I was filled with thoughts, and questions about my ability to transfer the essential elements of flying an airplane to an ordinary person. If I failed to teach, or missed an important subject area, this could cost this person their life, or whoever else may be flying with them. But the more time I spent gaining additional experience in flying the greater my confidence grew. I was able to be BOLDER in my teaching. The same is true with teaching, and spreading Gods word, and teachings.

All we need to do is take time to follow Jesus. Take more time to spend with him, and learn his ways. Then as we mature and grow with him, so will our ability to speak boldly about his teaching, love, and understanding. No Degree Required!

“Dear Father: Thank you for the wisdom that you give freely. Thank you for the Greatest Teacher, Instructor, Professor, and Friend, Jesus. Father, I humbly ask for your wisdom that I may be able to speak boldly, without fear of judgment your word. We pray all these things in your Sons name Jesus Christ.
