"He is my Refuge and my Fortress"

May 16 // 1 Corinthians 8:20-21

Psalm 91:1-4:

"1] He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2] I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4] He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
Lord, in today's lesson, You teach us through Your servant David's heart and life's trials, that You are our refuge, fortress, deliverer and shield in all things.
Surely a message of truth we all need as believers in these perilous times, in order to walk and live by faith and not by sight, as You have instructed us in 2 Corinthians 5:7. You have promised us that Your perfect love casts out all fear in 1 John 4:18.
Lord, today You are teaching us through Your Word and Holy Spirit:

1] That You want us to dwell in the secret place of Your presence that You have for us, that place where the enemy, though he will try, cannot find a way to overcome us.

2] You want us to confess the truth and power of Your covenant with us from Your word, trusting in You and knowing that You alone are our refuge and fortress.

3] You are our deliverer, our way of victory over the snare of the fowler, the traps of the enemy.... and You quiet our hearts and minds from the noisome pestilence, all the voices, sounds and circumstances of confusion this world and the enemy would bring to distract us from You, Your promises and direction in Your word and Your assignment for our lives.

4] You cover us with Your feathers, as an Eagle covers her young in safety and protection, therefore nothing can touch us unless it first goes through You. You want us to trust You in this place under Your wings. You want us to always know and live in the truth of Your kingdom and covenant with us, which is our shield and buckler to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy [ Ephesians 6:16 ]
Dear Lord,
Thank you for reassuring me once again today of who I am in Christ and of who You are in my life.... my refuge, fortress, shield, deliverer... my Lord and Savior.
I cast all my cares upon You today. Help me to grow deeper in my trust of You and Your Word each and every day, so I may bring greater glory unto You and Your Kingdom... and influence more people unto a saving relationship with You, through the life of victory You have called me to live and the power of Your Holy Spirit working through me.
I ask this in Your name Jesus, Amen
