Galatians 6 v. 9 & 10
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
It is so easy to be good to those in our family. A kind word, loving smile, warm hello, all take little to no effort when it is someone close to us.
God tells me to love Him, and love people, so why does it seem so hard some days to extend that kind word, warm hello, or helping hand to a stranger? Wrapped up in ourselves and our busy lives, we tend to sometimes forget the greatest of commandments.
Before I became a Pastor, I worked in retail, I dealt with a lot of customers that were too “busy”, or “preoccupied” to try and be nice, but that one person who smiled, or made an effort to be nice made my entire day.
I need to remember that. I need to make every effort to do good.
Jesus said “‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to help Jesus, so I shouldn't hesitate to help others
Help me to see you in all my brothers and sisters, help me to extend a helping hand, even if I think my hands are full. Lord you help me carry all my burdens, so I will always have a spare hand to share. Help me to remember that everyday.
In your precious and Holy name,
