LIFEguard for God!

Rod Shimabukuro

"To open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'" (Acts 26:18)
Paul appeals before King Agrippa, sharing the experience of his miraculous transformation through Christ. He unabashedly declares his new found purpose; to return to his people and to the Gentiles to share the gospel.

So many times, Christians forget that one of the greatest callings and purposes of our new found faith in Jesus, is to help people turn from their dark lives to Jesus light and love!

Jesus rescues us, so that we can be used to rescue others!
I remember being pulled out of the ocean, being rescued by a lifeguard, from the currents and treacherous, pounding waves! My life flashed before me and I seriously thought I was a goner!

I was rescued! Oh what a feeling - a new lease on life - another chance to live! But after a few weeks, the rescue became a cool story as I returned to my old ways and lifestyle at he early age of 14. But God didn't forget my prayer - that if He saved me, I would search for and live for Him. It took another 5 years, but He rescued me at age 19, from the grips of my sin and satan. But why? Yes...because He loved me and yes...because He wants to reach people through me.

How will I live differently today? I'm re-ignited i soul and heart to be the spiritual lifeguard he called me to be!
  • Be brave to share His love with those who are living in darkness.
  • Look for opportunities to present the gospel - to the weak, hurting, to the tough, calloused...just plant seeds of love.
Thanks Lord...for Your gracious prompting to love others and reminder that I am Your lifeguard. Thanks for training me to save lives. I know You are salvation, but thanks for using me to reach, preach, a way that can open eyes adn turn people from the power of satan to You!! Yes Lord!!! I want to see more and more people receive forgiveness and enter a relationship with You!
